1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Appo ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information. By using our mobile application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

Our app collects and uses various types of information to provide and improve our services. When you use our app, you may provide personal details such as your name, contact information, service details, calendar events, and client data. We use this information to set up and manage your account, provide our core services including calendar management and client interactions, and communicate with you about our services.

When you enable the online booking feature within the app, the following information may be shared with users of our website via your unique personal booking link, which you can share with others at your discretion: your name, phone number, chosen address, selected services, and available time slots. Available time slots are calculated based on your events and timetables in the app’s calendar. This data is exposed solely through your personal booking link and is accessible only to those with the link. You retain full control over enabling or disabling the online booking feature at any time.

When you input information about others, like your clients, you confirm your right to share this data with us. We process it as part of delivering our service to you.

To create clients based on your iPhone contacts, you need to grant access to your contacts. We do not store them automatically; instead, you can select specific contacts to create client profiles. Only the name and phone number of the contacts you choose will be uploaded to our servers.

We also automatically collect technical data including your device identifier, IP address, time zone, language, region, and User-Agent information. This data helps us ensure the security and proper functioning of our app, analyze usage patterns to improve our services, and troubleshoot issues.

You may choose to manually provide your address in the app. Additionally, we may determine your general location based on your IP address. This information is used to customize services based on your location and provide relevant local information.

Our email and SMS features process the content of these communications to deliver notifications and reminders as part of our service. While we don't intentionally collect sensitive personal information, if you include such data in notes or messages, we process it as part of our general service provision.

For troubleshooting and security purposes, we may temporarily store any of the above information in our logs.

All data processing is limited to what’s necessary for providing and improving our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We engage third-party service providers to assist with sending SMS messages and emails, storing logs, and processing payments. These services may receive and process some of your personal data as necessary for their functions.

The nature of data shared varies by service type. SMS providers may process personal information that our users include in their messages. Email services may handle users' real names and email addresses. For troubleshooting purposes, log storage services may temporarily retain any user data needed for issue investigation, with logs being kept for up to 30 days. Payment processors receive the transaction data necessary to complete payments.

We take steps to ensure all our third-party providers comply with relevant privacy laws. However, these providers may have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle personal data.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide you with our services. This includes account information, user-generated content, and usage data. We may also retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. To exercise this right, you can initiate a deletion request through the settings page in our mobile app. Upon submitting a deletion request, you will be immediately logged out of your account. This initiates a 7-day grace period during which the deletion request remains pending. During this time, you have the option to log back in and cancel the deletion request if you change your mind. If the request is not canceled within this 7-day period, we will proceed to permanently delete all your personal data from our active systems.

When we process your deletion request, we also initiate data deletion requests with the third-party services we use that may have access to your data. While we make every effort to ensure your data is deleted from these services, their specific data retention policies may apply.

Complete deletion of all data may take up to 30 days due to technical constraints and backup systems. After this period, the deletion is complete and irreversible. We will not be able to recover or identify your data after this point. Some non-personal, aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes. Additionally, we may retain certain information if required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention.

If you would like to request access to the data we store or withdraw consent to its processing, please contact support@appo.day. If you withdraw consent, you may need to delete your account, as we rely on your personal information to provide our services.

6. Security

We are committed to protecting your personal information and implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to safeguard it. Our security approach includes encryption for data in transit, robust access controls, and regular security audits. We restrict data access to authorized personnel only and provide ongoing data protection training to our team.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

In the event of a personal data breach, we will handle it in accordance with applicable data protection laws, which may include notifying the relevant supervisory authorities and affected individuals as required.

7. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have the information removed.

8. International Data Transfers

We may transfer your personal data to countries outside your country of residence. When we do so, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other legally recognized mechanisms.
